On the 23rd of November we travelled to Delft to compete in the first competition of the year: the NSTC1RCUS! In total, we competed with nine gymnasts, and even participated in the first national 50/50 championships. We took home some beautiful medals, and had a great time at the party afterwards. We celebrated the birthday of Split: we turned 33 on the 19th of November! We enjoyed some delicious cocktails, along with tasty snacks. In addition, we said goodbye to trainer and fellow Splitter Annemieke, who will give ski and snowboard lessons this winter in Austria. We wish you a lot of fun in Austria, Annemieke!
Last week, we had an exchange training with survivalrun association WOEST. The WOESTelingen did some beautiful handstands, cartwheels and even some forward rolls on the beam! In return the Splitters learned how to do the foot lock and monkey hang in the ropes. Thank you for the fun training WOEST!
In October, the Activity Committee organised a jumping activity at JumpXL in Ede. We had the whole trampoline park to ourselves and were able to do some cool jumps!
To welcome the new members, the Activity Committee organised a potluck lunch at the campus! Everybody brought some food and drinks to share. We had a great time!
In September, we went to Zeeland for our annual weekend away. Despite the heavy rainfall, we had a great time camping. Out of eight tents, only one tent turned out to be not fully waterproof. Luckily we could also enjoy some sun on the beach and had a delicious barbecue!
During the weekend of June 8th-9th, we already had our last competition of the year: the NSTC Teams in Groningen. Split participated with 2 teams and despite some unlucky falls, we had a great time!
Together with a group of Splitters we went bouldering in Nijmegen! For some of us this was the first time in a bouldering hall, but thankfully there were also some people who did know what they were doing and it was great to receive tips from them.
Together with the other student gymnastics associations U-turn (Utrecht), Linea Recta (Enschede) and Pegasus (Delft) we participated in the Batavierenrace!
